En route to Reims, the historic capital of the region of Champagne, you will hear the story of the kings of France and their coronations that traditionally took place in the local Cathedral. Our guided tour of Reims includes the visit of the Notre Dame Cathedral where most of the French kings were coronated. The Cathedral is also known thanks to the incredible stained-glass windows created by Marc Chagall. Besides the gothic Cathedral, Reims is home for some famous Champagne brands, such as Veuve Clicquot, Pommery, Ruinart, Taittinger, Mumm. We will pay a visit to one of them to learn about the methods of making Champagne wines and taste some of them.
After a lunch let’s proceed our Champagne private tour to Epernay, the wine capital of the region. Great Champagne houses such as Mercier, Moët & Chandon, Pol Roger, Vranken, Perrier-Joust aligned their headquarters on the impressive Avenue de Champagne. You can visit one of them, or instead you can choose to pay a visit to one of the local family producers. Their brands are not worldwide famous but it doesn’t prevent them from making excellent wines.
